A Fusion of our Creativity & His Divinity

I believe God wants to raise up artisans who will allow God’s Spirit to breathe on their talent to reach the world with the love of God. A fusion of their creativity with His divinity will result in presence filled performances. Sometimes people don’t just need to hear the gospel, they need to experience the presence of God.

Many times we are moved by performances and it causes the hair to stand up on the backs of our necks or goose bumps on our arms. The Arts are powerful! They move our emotions and touch our hearts & souls. I believe God wants them to also touch our spirits.

When we carry His presence into a performance whether it’s a song, drama, dance or piece of art, there can be a convergence of His divinity with our creativity that can touch the souls of those who don’t know Him.

Randy Clark of Global Awakening Ministries said “Anyone who doesn’t have an experience with God, doesn’t know God.”

The Arts can help people experience God, by anointing artists with His Holy Spirit who will allow His presence to fill a song, a performance, a theatre.

Revive Academy Creative Arts has a strong spiritual emphasis that performing should be as worship to God. There’s no room on the platform for egos. We want God to breathe on their performance.  The Spirit of God makes us different and our proximity to God makes us extraordinary. We want to see people’s gift live in their spirits as well as their hearts so we start to see a fusion of creativity and divinity!

We believe in a creative culture where weakness and failure is allowed. To be open about our insecurities and to bring them into the light.

We’re not ultimately here to bring skill (although important), we’re here to be salt & light –lightbearers. Our primary purpose is to shine.

“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you lightbearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand – shine!” (Matt 5:14 msg)

It’s time to rebuild the walls & occupy the gates with godly, Spirit-filled men and women of God.

“Rebuild the ancient ruins and raise up the age old foundations…”Is 58:12

One of these gates is arts & media. Music & creativity belongs to God.

The highest concentration of the manifest presence of God is in the believer. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit and as we raise up people who carry God I believe when they minister through their gift in theatres, arenas, cinemas, concert halls people will encounter God.

In this entertainment, celebrity orientated society I believe God wants to use this vehicle to speak to the world.

The entertainment industry has a big, powerful influence on our society but I believe God wants to use it. We need Christians in this arena filled with the presence of God and speaking the truth whether it’s through song, theatre, dance or word.  It’s time to take the airwaves back from the enemy and use them for the glory of God and the sake of the lost.

  1. I think you have something here. I now believe that the only true purpose of music (any genre) is to worship God. Now I have discovered this, any other use of it leaves me feeling that it has missed the point. I used to like the popular rock music, but now I find it is materialistic, arrogant or trivial and question its value. Indeed I can see some popular music is destructive, leading young people away towards the darkness with its use of obscene lyrics and promotion of broken people to the status of role models for the rebelious. It is great to hear the music at ‘one event’, the difference is amazing!
