“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.” Matthew 14:29 NIV
The actor, Will Smith was addressing an audience about confronting fear. He started sharing his experience when he was asked to go skydiving the following day. He said yes then spent all night regretting his response. (You can watch this interview at the end of this blog.)
As he talks through his fear leading up to the jump then experiences the feeling of “flying” he goes on to say….
“God placed the best things in life on the other side of terror, on the other side of your maximum fear are all the best things in life.” Will Smith
I feel like over the last few years I’ve been learning to consistently live outside of my comfort zone. It’s scary, but I know it’s a place where God wants us to be.
It’s a place of adventure and miracles. It’s a divine partnership God wants us to embrace.
These days I’m more scared to disobey God than I am to do the things He’s asking me to do.
Writing these blogs is one of many things that’s “outside my comfort zone.” I’ve mentioned before that I wasn’t an A grade student and writing was never on my agenda….but it was on God’s.
The disciples chose to leave their “normal” lives of fishing and take the adventure with Jesus. They saw vast healings, men raised from the dead, walked on water and saw multitudes fed with a boy’s “packed lunch.”
These men became revolutionaries and changed the face of the earth.
What’s God asking of you? You were born to adventure and partner with Him. What are you scared of?
Everything you want is on the other side of fear.
Step out of the boat. Jump out of the plane. Plunge into your God-given destiny. He knows you can’t do it without Him so you have a choice….
Live a “normal life” within your comfort zone, within your own attainable spheres of influence or join yourself to the Almighty God and take the jump. He knows you can’t do what He’s asking without Him.
So choose today to take the hand of the All-Powerful One and make your life an adventure!!
